U4GM PoE2 Grim Pillars Oracle Endgame Tips

Grim Pillars looks odd at first, and yeah, it can feel clunky for ten minutes. Then the damage starts landing and the whole thing makes sense. For Oracle players, the trick is simple: let Spell Totem handle the awkward part, skip the Runic Ward cost, and spend your attention on positioning, mana, and burst windows. It's the sort of setup where good gear matters, so planning upgrades around PoE 2 Currency early can save a lot of messing about later.

Why the totem setup feels so strong
The normal Grim Pillars loop asks you to spend Runic Ward to place cold crystals, which isn't always smooth in real fights. Linking it to Spell Totem changes the feel completely. The totem pays the "work" for you, while you manage Spirit and keep the screen loaded with pillars. The fun bit comes from forcing those crystals to shatter instead of waiting for monsters to step on them.

Spell Totem removes the awkward Runic Ward demand from regular casting.
Entangle helps set up the freeze and shatter interaction.
Elemental Discharge gives you a way to pop the crystals when you want.
More Area of Effect means more overlapping explosions on bosses.

Damage scaling that actually matters
This build doesn't scale like a plain cold spell build. You're chasing overlap first, then crit, then mana. Area of Effect is a big deal because two or three explosions landing together will beat one huge-looking hit almost every time. Oracle crit scaling is also nasty, since the class can make non-crits feel less wasted. Add Archmage on top, and your mana pool stops being just a resource bar. It becomes base damage.

Levelling without making yourself miserable
The early version can be a bit thin. People often rush keystones because the finished build looks tanky, but that's how you end up getting flattened by random rares. Don't jump into Eldritch Battery or Harmony Within too soon. Wait until you're around 2,000 to 2,500 maximum mana, then the "damage taken from mana before life" plan starts to feel proper. Before that point, keep your defences boring and reliable. Life, mana, regen, resists. Not glamorous, but it works.

Mapping and bossing rhythm
In maps, Grim Pillars is fast in a way Spark sometimes isn't. It doesn't care much about cracks, corners, or ugly ground clutter, so Abyss-style layouts feel far less annoying. The downside is real, though: your own crystals can block your movement. You'll dodge-roll through them constantly, and after a while it becomes muscle memory. For bosses, drop your full totem count, cast Entangle once or twice, then place Mana Tempest and stand in it while the shatters land. If the boss has heavy elemental resistance, penetration or exposure is not optional.

Gear checks before the build feels complete
The full four-totem version is hungry. Around 395 Spirit is the number many players aim for, especially with Archmage in the link. That usually means Spirit on the amulet and sceptre, plus mana and mana regeneration wherever you can squeeze them in. A strong wand with levels to all spell skills is often more realistic than chasing perfect cold-skill levels. If you're short, reservation efficiency on the tree can patch the gap. Players who'd rather speed up the gearing stage sometimes look at PoE 2 Currency buy options, but the real key is still setting weapon sets correctly: totem and Archmage on set one, utility skills on set two.
